Gettysburg Seminary Explores: Justice for All Includes Women

The Rev. Dr. Gerald Christian speaks with Ms. Kate Michelman, past President of Pro-Choice America and author, With Liberty and Justice for All.  She believes that a woman’s reproductive rights are fundamental but that these rights suffer more restrictions today than at any time since the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade. Some progress is evident in wages and career opportunities for women, but far short of the goal of total equality.

Ms. Michelman’s passion for women’s equality and reproductive choice began with her own experience after giving birth to three daughters in three years, followed by abandoned by her husband during her fourth pregnancy. She was denied services to terminate that fourth pregnancy.

From the religion beat to the arts, from theology to politics, from ethics to interfaith issues, the Seminary Explores podcasts give you a mind opening glimpse of the world,  20 minutes at a time. When and where you want it.

Established in 1970 as a radio program for central PA audiences, the Seminary Explores exercised its mission as an outreach in public theology and mission leadership by moving to a web-based podcast in late 2013.

No longer broadcast early Sunday mornings, The Seminary Explores provides an opportunity for the Seminary's wider constituencies and the global community to hear a variety of issues that are of significant theological interest, but do not entail self-advertising or proselytizing.
