How to Donate Funds to
the Wentz Library
The A. R. Wentz Library attempts to maintain a modern collection of published materials on theology, worship, and the history of religion for the use of Seminary students, faculty, and registered members of the greater community. Striving to make the right decisions, the staff is faced each year with a fixed acquisitions budget and increasing costs of materials. This situation has slowly diminished the latitude we have to procure many expensive, yet necessary books.
However, with your help, which is tax deductible and will be acknowledged in writing, the staff will be able to purchase important research publications that would otherwise have to be sacrificed. Much of this material is not available at other nearby schools or has been cataloged in Reference collections, which do not circulate or cannot be sent via Interlibrary Loan.
If you are interested in helping, please send your funds in any amount to:
The Library Book Fund

Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg
66 Seminary Ridge
Gettysburg, PA 17325
If you write a check, PLEASE put in the memo field or anywhere on the face of the check: "FOR LIBRARY USE ONLY" or "LIBRARY BOOK FUND ONLY," otherwise the funds may not be credited to the library's special account.
The Library will not use the funds solely for Lutheran materials, but will dispense them wisely to meet the needs of the curriculum and to complete series (e.g., the publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls in Discoveries in the Judaean Desert) that the staff cannot otherwise do without your help.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Circulation Desk during our posted working hours at 717-338-3014.
