GETTYSBURG SEMINARY SIGNS ON WITH BLESSED EARTH

GREEN_spring-convo_2012sm.jpgBlessings this Earth Day: In a week in which the Seminary welcomed Lutherans Restoring Creation, Greenfaith, and independent scholars to help present "Getting Green Faithfully," on Sunday, April 22, 2012, Seminary President Michael L. Cooper-White signed on with other "founding" seminaries involved with "Blessed Earth's" Seminary Stewardship Alliance.

Blessed Earth held a special Earth Day event in conjunction with the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., featuring presentations by Wendell Berry and a sermon by Matthew Sleeth, M.D., Blessed Earth's executive director.

Blessed Earth is offering programming for theological education in what it calls "Seminary Stewardship Alliance," in which Gettysburg signed on in the inaugural round of nationally known seminaries already committed to greening their facilities, their community life, and their curriculum.
